Australia—non-mining states outperform
Australian export receipts have risen strongly over much of the last five years supported by a lower currency, a raft of free trade agreements and robust demand from our major trading partners. But the benefits have varied across the states, with non-mining states reaping most of the benefits. Table 1 shows the performance of state exports, by sector, and the various contribution to the state export basket. In our final edition of Export Monitor, we look at the industries likely to drive each state’s future export performance.
