Swati Dave

Managing Director and CEO

Appointed: 3/7/2017

Qualifications: BCom, GAICD, GAIST

Swati Dave is an experienced senior banking executive and non-executive director with an established track record of successfully leading and growing complex P&L businesses in Australia, the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Swati has over 30 years’ banking and finance experience across a number of sectors including infrastructure, energy and utilities, renewable energy and property. She has held senior positions at National Australia Bank, Deutsche Bank, AMP Henderson Global Investors, Bankers Trust and Westpac.

Swati currently serves on the boards of State Super and Asia Society Australia. She has served as a former director of Australian Hearing, Great Western Bancorp Inc. (USA) and the NAB Wealth Responsible Entity Boards.

Swati holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.

Stuart Neilson

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer

Appointed: 2006

Qualifications: BBus, FCPA

Stuart is responsible for the Finance, Treasury, Risk Transfer and Corporate Services departments. He has over 30 years experience in banking and finance and prior to joining Efic, he worked for eight years in Australia with Chase Manhattan Bank and JP Morgan Chase, where his roles included Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

John Hopkins

General Counsel and Board Secretary

Appointed: 2012

Qualifications: LLB, B.Ec (Soc.Sci) (Hons), Grad. Dip (Postgraduate Law)

John is General Counsel and Board Secretary at Efic where he has responsibility for the Legal, Compliance and External Relations functions of the organisation. He also has responsibility for managing governance and regulatory compliance for the Efic Board.

John has over 18 years’ experience as a lawyer, focussed primarily in the finance and corporate sectors. Prior to joining Efic, John held various senior legal positions at Westpac, Goodman Group and National Australia Bank in Sydney, London and New York.

Natasha Teychenne

Executive Director, People and Culture

Appointed: 2015

Qualifications: BSc(Psych), MSc(Psych)

Natasha Teychenne leads the Human Resources function at Efic which is responsible for driving people and culture strategies to deliver on Efic’s strategic priorities.

With more than 15 years’ experience Natsha has led many change and cultural initiatives across a range of industries. She is a skilled senior executive with experience across the full HR spectrum including diversity, talent development, leadership, learning and development, and employee relations.

Before joining Efic, Natasha was the Director, Human Resources for PPB Advisory. She has also held senior HR and organisational development roles at CSC and Telstra.

Natasha is a registered psychologist. She is accredited by the Centre of Creative Leadership and is a qualified practitioner of Human Synergistic tools.

Andrew Watson

Executive Director – Export Finance

Qualifications: B. Ec, M. Com

Andrew Watson is head of the SME team at Efic – which provides financial solutions to help small and medium-sized Australian businesses grow their exports, offshore investments and onshore export-related business opportunities.

Prior to joining Efic, Andrew was Head of Rural & Regional Banking at Bankwest and successfully transformed this business, implementing a new sales framework and improving credit quality. He was also head of Bankwest’s Property Finance Business where he successfully implemented a new business strategy for the division.

David Graham

Executive Director, Corporate, Sovereign and Project Finance

Qualifications: BComm MComm

David Graham heads Efic’s origination team, which is responsible for the origination of new credit and insurance exposures.

Previously the Managing Director and Head of WestLB in Hong Kong, David has over 20 years experience in banking and finance. Having also held senior loan markets and project finance positions with JPMorgan, Bank of America and ANZ, David has significant global experience and is well networked across many of the countries in which Efic clients operate.

Highly regarded across treasury and debt capital markets, David’s expertise includes transaction origination, negotiation and maintenance; project finance, tax and structured financing; debt raising and capital structuring; and acquisition and asset-based finance.

John Pacey

Chief Credit Officer

Appointed: 2009

Qualifications: BCom, MBA

John Pacey is responsible for Efic’s credit and market risk management framework, including transaction approvals, the management of exposure levels and the overall portfolio risk profile. He also manages Efic’s Technical and Environmental Risk Assessment, Portfolio Management and Economics teams.

John has over 20 years experience in credit management. Prior to joining Efic, John was Country Portfolio Manager & Senior Vice President at Bank of America, where he worked from 1987. In this role he had credit responsibility for the corporate and financial institutions portfolios in Australia and New Zealand. Other roles at Bank of America included Country Portfolio Manager, Thailand and Vice President, Special Assets Group based in Indonesia.
