EFIC’s country profiles, written by our Economics Team, provide information on the key risks of doing business in a particular destination.
For Australian businesses considering exporting or investing overseas, EFIC’s country profiles are an invaluable source of information. Each profile reviews the economy, politics, business conditions, society and the security situation of the country.
EFIC’c country profiles are available for the destinations shown below and are updated regularly.
EFIC does not issue market gradings for individual countries. However, the OECD publishes country risk grades for 144 countries which attempt to measure the likelihood that a country will service its external debt. The gradings measure country credit risk for loan maturities over two years and range from 1 (low risk) to 7 (very high risk).
The OECD's country risk grades set minimum benchmarks for the sovereign risk premiums that official export credit agencies, such as EFIC, can charge for medium-term insurance and finance products in different countries
