Under the terms of EFIC's Environment Policy, Category A projects are those considered likely to have significant adverse environmental and/or social impacts.
As part of the assessment process for Category A projects, EFIC allows a public consultation period of not less than 30 days in relation to the sponsor's assessment of the environmental and social impact of the project.
For reference, EFIC generally expects the sponsor's environmental and social impact assessment to be undertaken with reference to International Finance Corporation's 'Performance Standard 1: Social and Environmental Assessment and Management Systems'.

Parties interested in providing comments on the impact assessment undertaken by the project sponsors should send them to EFIC by the closing date for public comments on the particular project.
