Economist
Country risk and macroeconomic analysis
The Export Finance and Insurance Corporation does considerable business in emerging and frontier markets, and for that reason needs to assess and rate country risk the better to manage it. We also write material for an external audience on overseas economic conditions and risks.
To help us do this work, we are looking to fill a vacancy in our economics team. Our recruit will have
- a strong grasp of the principles of economics, both micro and macro
- a degree in economics at Honours level or higher
- 3-5 years’ work experience
- excellent writing and presentation skills
- experience in statistical analysis and economic forecasting.
The duties will include: database maintenance, chart preparation, forecasting, report writing, and participation in internal meetings.
The job has a strong focus on the international economy and emerging markets. It will enable you to do economic analysis in a political context. You will be an important member of deal teams working on complex transactions in challenging markets.
